Program Abstract

This program provides a brief overview of lithium-ion battery cell technology moving to a discussion of lithium-ion battery hazards and fire protection systems to mitigate those hazards. The module will focus on lithium-ion battery storage in warehouses. The module will include examples of lithium-ion battery testing by FM in the development of fire protection recommendations for these facilities. The module will conclude with a discussion on pre-planning at facilities with large quantities of lithium-ion batteries.
